Dyn11 K transformers are isolation transformers designed to withstand high levels of harmonic distortion introduced by a nonlinear load. The harmonic distortions created by these devices lead to increased current consumption, and consequently, to large losses. This should be taken into account in the design of the transformer in order to provide the necessary class of temperature protection. The coefficient K indicates the degree of influence of harmonic distortion on the system: the higher it is, the higher the harmonic content the transformer must withstand for normal and safe operation.

Blocking, filtering and regulating reactors are used in conjunction with capacitor banks in power factor correction systems and harmonic filters. As a rule, such reactors are supplied with a magnetic core, which allows for a high level of linearity even at peak current values far exceeding the rated current.
